WWE Wrestle Mania XXVIII: Top 5 Superstars to Support John Laurinaitis
In my opinion, we are headed towards a Raw vs. Smackdown match at WrestleMania to determine the permanent General Manager for both shows. That seems to be the next logical step in this story.
However, I wonder if it will be a tag team match, singles match, or some sort of speciality match. Either way, Teddy Long is going to have his supporters, just as Johnny Ace will. Today, I am going to focus on five people who may fight for Mr. Excitement!
5. Drew Mcintyre
1 of 5For the record, I am ruling out Johnny Ace to lace up the boots himself. That may happen somewhere down the line, but I don't want to see that at WrestleMania.
Drew McIntyre is an interesting choice. If anybody has a problem with Teddy Long, it is this man. The only thing against him is his recent win-loss record.
It does not speak well for him having a major match at WrestleMania. If Johnny Ace could try to "recruit" him for his team, it could very well land him a nice spot on Monday nights.
4. Mark Henry
2 of 5I am going to assume Mark Henry is healthy once again. If not, he shouldn't be competing, whether it is a short appearance in a tag-team match or not!
He needs to rest up first.
However, you have to believe that he is ready to go. As we saw at Elimination Chamber, the big man is certainly in Mr. Excitement's corner! Once again, Teddy Long has not been kind to this performer, so the decision will be easy on who he will support.
3. Alberto Del Rio
3 of 5The WWE Universe witnessed his return at the Elimination Chamber PPV event. It was a great live moment for me, and it looked to lay the groundwork for his Mania program.
If anybody is worthy of a nice spot on the biggest show of the year, it is Alberto Del Rio.
He won the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank, and took down the WWE Championship twice in 2011. That is a nice list of accomplishments for one year.
If there is nothing left for him to do at WrestleMania in April, so why not support John Laurinaitis?
2. Christian
4 of 5Christian wants "one more match" for the World Title. He just needs Teddy Long to make such a match happen. Such a long time ago...
However, Christian doesn't have much else going for him right now. Thus, a match that could strip Teddy Long of all his power would seem to fit Christian perfectly. It would certainly make sense.
As we saw during the PPV on Sunday, Christian is in Johnny Ace's corner. With Mr. Long out of power, he may just get "one more match" for the World Title...
1. David Otunga
5 of 5As I wrote about in December, this man has been impressive the past few months. He has found a nice role for himself and is improving each and every week. Major shout-out to David for praising said article!
During the early months of 2012, David Otunga has been linked to Johnny Ace like nobody else. If anybody is going to defend him, it will be the Attorney at Raw.
Any time you see Big Johnny, you see Otunga. Just this past week, Johnny was ringside during his matches. I don't know about you, but they seem to be the closest out of all the other talents I've listed.
David Otunga also was the man who suggested a single general manager should run WWE. If anybody will be focused on during this story, it will be the Harvard graduate!
