Shocking News: Anthony Randolph Gets Playing Time
Anthony Randolph finally got to see game time and he did a great job for the most part when he saw action in the game. He played a total of just over 14 minutes and was a big impact on the defensive side and as well as on the offensive side of the court.
The bad news for the Warriors is that Randolph got to see action because of Brandan Wright not being able to return to the game. Wright left with a partially separated left shoulder and in came Randolph.
Randolph was instant energy for the Warriors and I had to do a double take just to make sure I was seeing that it was actually Randolph on the court. He didn't rebound very well though, but he did get one really nice blocked shot on Derek Fisher.
Randolph showed what he could do in the open floor and had two dunks while hustling down the court for fast break points. In the time that Randolph was on the floor the Warriors were able to maintain a lead, but once he was was taken out the Warriors gave the game back to the Lakers, but that's a different story.
Randolph also did play solid defense on Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol. He was able to alter their shots, but other times the two were just in too close that he couldn't really do much about it. Yet, he hustles he made plays and if Wright is going to be out for an extended period, Randolph should be getting playing time.
Both Wright and Randolph definitely helped the Warriors. When Wright was in the game the Warriors were at a plus 13 so it does stink that he had to leave with an injury because he did an excellent job on Gasol. Randolph was also a plus five when he was on the court.
After watching the Warriors against the Lakers it had the same resemblance of the game against the Celtics in Boston. They played tough, but just didn't have what it took to get over the hump and get a win.
