NBA Celebrity All-Star Game 2012: Famous Players Who Will Steal Show
Famous faces from the worlds of television, movies, music and sports will collide on Friday night at the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. The annual event is one of the best parts of All-Star Weekend because everybody enjoys watching celebrities make fools of themselves on national television.
Justin Bieber won't return to defend his MVP Award (game highlights below), so here are three strong contenders to take home the trophy. For a complete list of participants, visit the game's official site.
Common
Common is a celebrity game veteran, so he knows the way things work in these contests. It's all about taking as many shots as possible without looking like you have no talent whatsoever. The actor and hip-hop star should understand that by now.
He's actually shown some pretty good skill in his previous outings. He's not on the same level as Terrell Owens, who used to dominate the game in the past, but he's still got more ability than most of the players suiting up tonight.
Prediction: 13 points
Vinny Guadagnino
I'm not a fan of Jersey Shore, but in the bits and pieces I have seen, it doesn't seem like the stars are actually doing anything of note. So that means Guadagnino should have had plenty of time to practice for his appearance tonight.
If nothing else, he'll play harder than everybody else on the court knowing full well what will happen when he gets home if he sucks. That's actually a lot of pressure, but he wanted to be in the game so he should have at least some skill.
Prediction: 12 points
Kevin Hart
Hart has no problem making fun of his height, or lack thereof, which makes him an interesting choice to play in a celebrity basketball game. The good news for the comedian is that he won't be facing off against any 6'7'' powerhouses in Orlando.
Since he's short, Hart actually has an MVP advantage heading into the game because if he has a good game it will be all the more impressive. I fully expect him to have a good showing tonight, although one of the former NBA players might swat a shot into the eighth row just for fun.
Prediction: 10 points
