Florida vs. Kentucky: Anthony Davis and Studs That Will Decide Top-10 Showdown
The No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats will host the No. 7 Florida Gators in a huge battle for SEC supremacy on Tuesday night.
Kentucky has dominated conference competition to this point with a 9-0 mark, and has suffered just one defeat on the season, that being a one-point loss to Indiana.
Florida hasn't been quite as good, but with a 7-1 conference record and seven straight wins under their belt, this will be the toughest SEC test for Kentucky yet. Each side hasn't gotten to this point without elite players, so they will need their stars to come up big.

Here are three studs that will decide the outcome of this big top-10 showdown:
G Doron Lamb, Kentucky
With six players who essentially contribute equally, it's difficult to single out players who must perform on Tuesday night for the Wildcats. The Gators have a myriad of effective guards in Kenny Boynton, Bradley Beal and Erving Walker, so Kentucky will need to combat that in some way.
Much of that falls on the shoulders of sophomore guard Doron Lamb.
Lamb is unquestionably Kentucky's best and most consistent perimeter scorer, as he averages 13.5 points per contest. He is also their best shooter, nailing nearly 48 percent of his 92 three-point attempts on the season.
Most teams can't hang with Florida in terms of guard play, but Kentucky is one of the few that can. In order for that to happen though, Lamb needs to be at his best.
G Kenny Boynton, Florida
While Florida needs everyone in its three-guard attack to excel in order to be successful, Kenny Boynton is certainly the most integral. Boynton has been the Gators' go-to guy for the past few seasons, and that continues to be the case this year.
He leads the team with 17.6 points per game, is second in assists and he manages to shoot a very respectable 47.3 percent from the field.
In order to beat a team like Kentucky, Florida needs its stars to play like stars. That primarily means Boynton as he is an elite scorer. Because of the support he has in the backcourt, the Wildcats likely won't be able to focus all their efforts on shutting down Boynton.
If he is given any space at all, then he has the skills to be a major difference-maker and spur the Gators to an upset win.
F Anthony Davis, Kentucky
Florida's advantage may lie in its guard play, but Kentucky may have an even bigger edge on the interior. The biggest reason for that is sensational freshman forward Anthony Davis.
The 6'10" beast leads the Wildcats in a number of important categories, including scoring (13.9 PPG), rebounding (10.1 RPG) and blocks (4.8 BPG).
On top of that, he is also the Wildcats' most efficient player as he converts on almost two-thirds of his shot attempts, which is basically unheard of in the game of basketball.
The Gators have a couple serviceable bigs, but it is quite obvious that their biggest weakness resides in the paint.
No team in the nation has proven to this point that it can handle Davis, and there is nothing that suggests Florida will be the team that slows him down. If Davis has his usual monstrous game on both ends of the floor, this game will belong to Kentucky.
