WWE Rumors: The Miz Challenges LeBron James for WrestleMania?

Tomorrow night, The Miz will be in the Royal Rumble main event. Not only that, but he will be the first entrant. It is a tough task, but he is a great talent. He will make the most of it.

I'm a big fan, but I am not giving him much of a chance to win. It is sad to say, but he will likely not be earning a championship match at WrestleMania 28 in Miami. That may be the best thing to happen in his career.

According to this interview with Metro, The Miz seems to have an opponent in mind for Mania this spring. In the interview, he calls out NBA star LeBron James when asked who he'd like to face at the huge event on April 1st, 2012:

LeBron James. I’m from Cleveland, Ohio. LeBron said he was going to bring an NBA Championship to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Cleveland suck at most sports, but finally we had this basketball savior, and what does he do? Backstabs us and goes to Miami Heat! Miami is where Wrestlemania will be, so I’d like to face him.

This is nothing new. Mike "The Miz" Mizanin has not been kind to "King" James in the past either. The story goes something like this:

Both are from Ohio. James played for the Cleveland Cavaliers for much of the past decade, all the while expecting to bring the city an NBA title. Well, that never happened.

For one reason or another, the Cavs could never win "the big one." Thus, in the summer of 2010, LeBron was a free agent and took his talents to South Beach. What team did he join?

The Miami Heat!

Is all of this starting to come together now?

While that entire story covered the basketball world, The Miz won the WWE Championship. Yes, Miz won a title for Ohio. Something James failed to do...

Now we travel down the road to WrestleMania, culminating in a huge spectacle in Miami, Florida!

If LeBron James wants to have the home-field advantage, he will certainly have it in Miami. Also, it is no secret that the audience would boo The Miz. That seems to be a pretty big celebrity match.

Will it happen? Highly unlikely. James and the Miami Heat are focused on winning an NBA title, and The Miz has called him out before to no avail. It would certainly work out, as Miz needs to find an opponent, and the media would be all over this.

The smart money is still on Shaq, Muppets or Snooki playing a role in Mania this spring to fill the "celebrity role." Those are my guesses, at least. Anything can happen in WWE...
