Royal Rumble 2012: 3 Reasons Pay-Per-View Is Worth It

The WWE Royal Rumble may just be the best event on the docket. Reach deep into your pockets for the pay-per-view fee, because it will be well worth it. 

The madness begins Sunday, January 29th at 8 p.m. ET, and you can get PPV info here. For fans, that should be all you need to convince you to ditch the hard-earned dollars for hours of entertainment, but we will give you some scintillating specifics now. 

1. Mayhem

It's easy to call the Royal Rumble a chaotic mass of stars and less lauded athletes, but it is far more proper to consider it to be carefully orchestrated mayhem. 

At its best, the WWE is an unrelenting force that continues to bring the hits. Forget leaving to get a beer or a mid-match restroom break, there is wall to wall action. 

You just have to accept the fact that you will miss something, because there is just too much goodness going on at the Royal Rumble.

Every 90 seconds we get a new face to the squared circle. That means we get to see some of the sport's finest test their mettle in a perfect mix of wild anarchy and marathon madness. 

Chris Jericho will no doubt be greeted to wild applause when he enters the melee. His entry will serve to illustrate just how special this event can be. 

There is also the hope that past legends come back for a stirring performance. If The Undertaker doesn't land with an explosion at the Royal Rumble, you can guarantee that another superstar of old will.

3. John Cena and WrestleMania

The Royal Rumble isn't just one event, it's part of a journey to WrestleMania. That sentiment couldn't be more true than it is for John Cena. 

His bout with The Rock still needs a great deal of tweaking as Cena's image and personae continue to be questioned. His battle with Kane will no doubt answer in full what is in store for Cena and the future of the WWE. 

There is an infinite amount of reasons to sit back and let waves of entertaining images wash over you on Sunday.
