Royal Rumble 2012: WWE Can't Give Up on CM Punk's Title Reign
*Disclaimer* I am not a CM Punk fan in any way, shape or form.
Having said that, the WWE needs CM Punk right now.
Aside from the fading popularity of Jonh Cena, Punk is the only mega star in the sport right now.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
When The Rock left to star in kids movies and Chris Jericho turned into a crazy person that apparently can’t talk anymore, there was a huge void to fill.
Punk, with his spectacular mic work and athletic ability, has been able to be the guy to step into that role. There is no question who was the dominant force in 2011—Punk was the man. His performance against Del Rio at Survivor Series was one for the history books. Defending the title in the manner he did at TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs further solidified his status as the king of the sport.
That’s why Punk needs to win in dominating fashion over Dolph Ziggler to retain the championship belt. Ziggler has gotten the best of him recently, but that’s because of the incredibly pesky interim General Manager John Laurinatis.
With a likely side bout with Laurinatis to occur at Royal Rumble, the creative team must find a way for Punk to dominate both in grand fashion. Maybe he can smash both of their heads together and make them look like members of the Three Stooges?
A convincing win would solidify his place among the greatest wrestlers of the past half-decade and further brighten the biggest star in the sport. Punk is WWE in 2012, whether you like it or not.
