WWE Royal Rumble 2012: 5 Superstars That Could Draw the No. 1 Entry

With the 25th Anniversary of the WWE Royal Rumble less than two weeks away, there is a lot of discussion amongst the Internet Wrestling Community on who will draw the No. 1 entry.

In the 24-year history of the Rumble, some of the greatest superstars in WWE history have started, and won, the famed 30-Man Battle Royal.  All by picking that unwanted single-digit number.  

Here are the top five WWE Superstars that could be the No. 1 entry, from No. 5 to No. 1.

5) Chris Jericho

With the controversial return of Y2J, there is a very good chance that he will enter the 2012 Royal Rumble. In the 2003 Royal Rumble, he picked the No. 2 entry and lasted for over 38 minutes.  His luck might run out this year and he may be the unlucky recipient of the big No. 1.

4) Santino

The “Jar Jar Binks” of the WWE, Santino holds the record for the shortest Royal Rumble appearance in WWE history: 1.9 seconds.  

Although he did very well in last year’s Rumble match, it would not be a major surprise if Santino was yet again unlucky in this year's Royal Rumble.

3) Jack Swagger

Newly crowned WWE United States Champion Jack Swagger could have his sights set on acquiring more championship gold by winning the Royal Rumble and headlining WrestleMania.  

With only a few Royal Rumble matches under his belt, drawing that No. 1 entry could be a major hurdle for the “All American American.”

2) Wade Barrett

There's a good chance 2012 could be Wade Barrett's standout year.  

The “Barrett Barrage” has claimed several victims in 2011, with Randy Orton being one of them.  Barrett is one of the favourites to win the 2012 Royal Rumble, but picking that No. 1 entry could be the proverbial straw that breaks Barrett's back.

And now, the No. 1 superstar that could draw the No. 1 entry...

1) Sheamus

“The Celtic Warrior” is the odds-on favourite to win the 2012 Royal Rumble, and he's been on an impressive roll as of late.  

From a straight booking perspective, putting Sheamus as the No. 1 entry would put him over in a spectacular way—if he were to win the Rumble match.  Past WWE Superstars like Shawn Michaels, who have picked the No. 1 entry and have won the Royal Rumble, became instant championship material.  

If Sheamus draws that dangerous single-digit entry, then he may also become a legend in Royal Rumble folklore.
