NFL Playoffs 2012: Odds on Every Wild-Card Winner's Chances

Gabe ZaldivarJun 2, 2018

It's time to analyze the likelihood that Cinderella makes it to that Super Bowl ball.

The odds have been updated, giving us a chance to dissect the teams that just a week ago wrestled free from the Wild Card Round.

The odds are not the best for a couple of the following teams. It will take a miracle, in fact, for the nation's most beloved quarterback to step foot in the Super Bowl. It' a good thing that Tim Tebow happens to carry miracles in his back pocket.

Let's break down how those degenerate gamblers and oddsmakers have the four teams that won last week, as they enter the divisional round on the road to the Super Bowl.

Odds to win Super Bowl according to Bovada.

Houston Texans: 30/1

It doesn't help that the Texans head into the divisional game with a quarterback who was well down on their depth charts before injury hit the team hard.

It's amazing to think that they are getting absolutely no respect considering the weapons they have on both sides of the ball. I love me some Andre Johnson, and think the Texans could surprise some people if they get past another defensive juggernaut this weekend in the Baltimore Ravens.

New Orleans Saints: 7/2

This is more like it. There are many who will ballyhoo that the Saints are playing on grass away at San Francisco this weekend. Great. So they won't score over 40 points. They will still put up more than Alex Smith can contend with.

The Saints are playing out of their minds and are the most dangerous team out there right now.

New York Giants: 14/1

This is fair to me. The Giants may be as underrated as their quarterback Eli Manning has been this season, but they still have questions on defense.

They have been far too inconsistent on that side of the ball for me to buy into them beating the Packers and then rolling into the Super Bowl.

Denver Broncos: 35/1

The Broncos have the worst odds out of any team, not just those that won last week, and that makes sense. They may have all the hype, but that doesn't mean they deserve one iota of respect from oddsmakers.

They may once again shock against the Patriots with a spirited defense, but they still come in as huge underdogs. You can't have both, Denver. You will not play the part of spoiler, Cinderella and respected football club. Just be happy you are here.
