WWE Brodus Clay Debut: Funk-Asaurus Needs to Be on RAW Permanently
Monday night’s WWE RAW was something special and the writers better have taken note.
The return of Clay Brodus to the ring was not only a long time in the making and very refreshing, but entertaining as hell, too.
The crowd was going nuts when he entered the stage and the show he put on was legendary. He was the talk of the event and showed he still has loads of swagger and plenty of strength and athleticism left in the tank.
The WWE RAW needed something big after the joke that was the 1/2/12 secret.
The lackluster return of Chris Jericho was awful. In my opinion it was one of the worst ideas in the history of the sport. Not exactly the best way to kick off the new year.
Good thing they quickly made up for it on Monday with the return of Clay, aka Funk-asaurus.
Clay, a 375-pound freak of nature, used to pummel opponents with his sheer size. Not this time.
The Funk-asaurus from Planet Funk danced around the ring with backup dancers and looked like some sort of musician.
It was incredibly bizarre, funny and incredible random all at the same time. The emotions that it stirred were certainly unique.
Once the craziness subsided, Clay showed he hadn’t lost a beat in the ring.
He promptly destroyed Curt Hawkins and used his ridiculous muscle to slam his opponent onto the mat. The sheer strength was incredibly fun to watch.
He can be an incredible asset going forward. Why not face him off against one of the rising stars like Zach Ryder? He needs to work his way up the ladder, but allowing him to have a strong Royal Rumble performance could eventually lead to a bout with one of the top guns like CM Punk down the line.
If you want to see your favorite wrestler take on a giant, Clay needs to stick around. I don’t know if the producers of WWE knew what they were getting into with Clay, but they hit the jackpot.
