Colts HC: Anthony Richardson TD 'Best Throw I've Ever Seen'; Mahomes to Tyreek 2nd
Indianapolis Colts second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson's 60-yard touchdown pass to Alec Pierce was the biggest highlight of Week 1, and his head coach was among those who were left in awe.
Per ESPN's Stephen Holder, Colts head coach Shane Steichen said Richardson's throw against the Houston Texans surpassed Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes as the greatest he's witnessed in person.
"That was probably the best throw I've ever seen," Steichen said. "Closest one was probably [Patrick] Mahomes when I was [with] the Chargers in 2020, to Tyreek Hill. But it was impressive. He ... just freaking launched that thing and hit Alec in stride. It was impressive as all get-out."

Biggest Questions Surrounding 2026 NFL Season After the Draft 🤔
Richardson had to evade the Texans' pass rush as he dropped back before he launched the ball toward the sky while throwing off his back foot. Pierce caught the ball just before passing the goal line, creating the first "Wow" moment of the year for the Colts.
While Steichen was among the masses who were blown away by the 60-yard bomb, Richardson didn't let the play go to his head and instead gave the credit to Pierce.
"AP just did his job, and I just had to deliver the ball to him," Richardson. "I think I did a decent job getting the ball there and he made a play."
Unfortunately, the Colts suffered a 29-27 loss to their AFC South rivals. Indianapolis will try to bounce back when it visits the Green Bay Packers in Week 2.
