That news followed a Saturday report from Mike Johnson of PW Insider, who stated that Ricochet told WWE he intended to leave after his contract expired this summer.
"We are told that Ricochet is expected to be written out of WWE storylines very soon in advance of the contract expiration," Johnson wrote.
It also appears that Ricochet's reported writing off of television includes that Speed belt as well. Per James Hetfield of PWMania, Andrade defeated The One and Only in a June 7 taping, which will air this upcoming Friday on X.
Ricochet, 35, has done well in the WWE since joining the main roster in 2019. He's earned the Intercontinental Championship and United States Championship and became the first-ever WWE Speed Champion as well.
Ricochet certainly made his mark in WWE as a talented, athletic and high-flying performer. He will be missed, but one has to figure he'll have his fair share of opportunities elsewhere.
