Field Yates NFL Mock Draft 2024: Brock Bowers to Jets; Cowboys Get RB Jonathon Brooks
The New York Jets and Dallas Cowboys have had polar-opposite offseasons so far, but both teams are expected to address the offensive side of the ball in the 2024 NFL draft.
ESPN's Field Yates predicted that the Jets will use the No. 10 pick to select Georgia star tight end Brock Bowers.
New York entered the offseason with multiple holes to fill, particularly on the offensive line, but the team's free-agency acquisitions will allow for some flexibility with its first-round pick.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
"After trading for Morgan Moses and signing Tyron Smith in free agency, the Jets have a pair of veteran starters at offensive tackle. I have concerns about durability for Smith... and the Jets face an urgent season with QB Aaron Rodgers turning 41 in December, so taking a quality offensive tackle is still very much appealing," Yates explained. "That said, Bowers is a difference-making tight end who would complement star wideout Garrett Wilson and recently signed Mike Williams. He would thrive with no shortage of run-after-catch opportunities."
Unlike the Jets, the Cowboys have been relatively quiet this offseason, as more headlines have been generated about the players they lost as opposed to the ones they acquired. Yates predicted that Dallas would use its second-round pick to fill a hole on offense by selecting Texas running back Jonathon Brooks at No. 56.
"It feels like a foregone conclusion that the Cowboys will take a back at some point in the draft after losing Tony Pollard this offseason," Yates stated. "Brooks probably wouldn't still be available if he had not torn his ACL back in early November, but Dallas is unafraid of taking swings on Day 2. Brooks has excellent vision and balance, and he can be a factor in the passing game."
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network later reported on Wednesday that Brooks is among multiple prospects visiting with the Cowboys ahead of the draft.
Bowers and Brooks are two of the best players at their respective positions in this year's draft class. B/R's NFL Scouting Department ranks Bowers as the No. 1 tight end and Brooks as the No. 4 running back in the latest big board.
Landing with talented offenses like the Jets and Cowboys would allow them to get their pro careers started on the right track.
