Field Yates NFL Draft 2024 Big Board: Jayden Daniels Ranks Over MHJ After Pro Days

Jayden Daniels is the odds-on favorite to be the No. 2 pick in the 2024 NFL draft, and expert big boards are starting to reflect his ascent.

ESPN's Field Yates moved Daniels up to No. 2 on his board in his top 50 rankings, putting him behind USC's Caleb Williams and ahead of Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr.

The reigning Heisman winner was impressive at LSU's pro day, flashing elite downfield passing ability while putting some extra zip on passes. Harrison has eschewed all pre-draft workouts, choosing to not participate in the NFL scouting combine or Ohio State's pro day.

The decision has not done much to hurt Harrison's draft stock, as he's still widely expected to be a top-five pick. The Arizona Cardinals appear his likeliest destination at No. 4, though Daniels' LSU teammate Malik Nabers could wind up eclipsing Harrison as the WR1.

Daniels is a virtual lock to be taken at No. 2 or No. 3 overall next month. Tigers coach Brian Kelly may have played the spoiler at LSU's pro day by hinting Daniels would be headed to Washington.

"He is going to be so committed to taking care of himself that you're not going to have to worry about size or [if] he doesn't weigh enough," Kelly said of Daniels. "Lamar [Jackson] has done a pretty good job with his size. [Patrick] Mahomes I wouldn't consider him a giant. Because [Daniels] is going to get the ball out to the playmakers and make plays. For Washington."

B/R's Scouting Department is a little more tepid in its evaluation of Daniels, ranking him as the No. 29 overall player and a distant third in the quarterback rankings behind North Carolina's Drake Maye and USC's Caleb Williams.
