Duke's Kyle Filipowski Questioned by CBB Fans Despite March Madness Win vs. Vermont

Despite standout center Kyle Filipowski's quiet offensive night, Duke still defeated Vermont by the final score of 64-47 in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Friday night.

The Blue Devils got into a bit of trouble during the second half, as Vermont cut the deficit to just five points with over 12 minutes remaining in the game. However, Duke instantly responded with a 6-0 run to extend the lead to double digits once again.

Filipowski grabbed a game-high 12 rebounds and was dominant on the defensive end of the floor, racking up three blocks and two steals.

However, he took a surprisingly passive approach on offense. The Blue Devils' leading scorer in the regular season attempted just one shot in 37 minutes on the floor, finishing with a mere three points.

Fans were perplexed by his quiet scoring night.

It was a balanced scoring effort from the Blue Devils as a team, as all of the other four starters finished with at least 13 points. Duke's defense was strong as well, with Vermont shooting just 38.5 percent from the field and 25.0 percent from three.

The Blue Devils advanced to the second round where they'll face off against the winner of Friday night's clash between Wisconsin and James Madison.
