WWE News: Did WWE Officials Make Up False Reports Before Chris Jericho's Return?

Drake OzJun 7, 2018

The pro wrestling industry is all about working the fans.

The goal of any wrestler, manager, booker or promoter is to make the fans believe that everything they see is legitimate. In order to try to throw us off, though, they sometimes put out red herrings.

As it turns out, that’s exactly what WWE officials did prior to the return of Chris Jericho

"

WWE officials planned to have Chris Jericho be the man behind the cryptic videos on RAW all along. Reports of Jericho being unhappy about not being featured in the WWE ’12 video game were made up to make insider fans think there was a rift between Jericho and WWE.

"

Of course, we all could see that a little tag-team effort was made between Jericho and the WWE. People within WWE sent out these false reports about Jericho being pissed off about not being included in WWE ’12, and Jericho himself certainly did his part to get fans to think that he wanted nothing to do with the WWE.

But we weren’t fooled.

Just go back and read the comments section on reports about beef between Jericho and the WWE, and you’ll see that it’s pretty clear that any fan who had read about the supposed issues between Jericho and WWE was almost certain those reports weren’t true.

You might say that the work didn’t work, because we basically knew what was going on the whole time.

Perhaps the WWE’s little ploy would have worked with another superstar, but not with Jericho. He’s famous for working the Internet, and everything he was doing while the “It Begins” videos were airing was classic Y2J.

We may not have been surprised by Jericho’s return, but I think a good portion of us are glad to see him back.

In other Jericho news, F4Wonline.com (via SEScoops.com) reports that Jericho is indeed returning to the WWE on a full-time basis.
