Jets' Jermaine Johnson to Replace Chargers' Khalil Mack in 2024 NFL Pro Bowl Games

Jermaine Johnson is headed to the Pro Bowl Games.

The New York Jets linebacker was chosen as an injury replacement for Los Angeles Chargers pass-rusher Khalil Mack on Tuesday. He will join defensive tackle Quinnen Williams and cornerback Sauce Gardner as the Jets' representatives in Orlando, Florida.

This is Johnson's first Pro Bowl selection in his second season in the league.

He finished the campaign with 55 tackles, 7.5 sacks, seven passes defended, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one interception that he returned for a touchdown.

"I haven't proved anything," he told reporters after the season. "What I did has been done. I haven't done anything after that. So just keep going, staying humble, and reminding myself I haven't done nothing."

Now he has made the Pro Bowl Games at just 25 years old, which could be the first of many if he continues on his current trajectory.

While the NFL no longer plays a traditional Pro Bowl All-Star Game, it still pits some of the best players in the league against each other in a multiday AFC vs. NFC competition. The skills competition is on Thursday, while the flag football game and other events are on Sunday.

Players will compete in events such as dodgeball and a closest-to-the-pin golf contest on Thursday, while the 7-on-7 flag football game will come after an obstacle course challenge and tug-of-war game on Sunday.

It remains to be seen where the AFC will use Johnson, but he will get the chance to have some fun with the league's best players after an impressive season.
