Report: Dalton Schultz, Texans Agree to 3-Year, $36M Contract Ahead of Free Agency

Tight end Dalton Schultz has agreed to re-sign with the Houston Texans on a three-year, $36 million contract that includes $23.5 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Schultz, 27, has played in six NFL seasons. He spent his first five years with the Dallas Cowboys before signing a one-year, $6.2 million contract with the Houston Texans.

Schultz played an integral role for a Texans team that went from 3-13-1 to 10-7 and AFC South champions, catching 59 passes for 635 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games.

Over his last four seasons, Schultz has managed a per-17 game average of 69 receptions, 711 yards and six touchdowns, per Pro Football Reference.

The 6'5", 244-pound Schultz has proved to be one of the more reliable tight ends in the game since becoming a starter in 2020. He's missed only four games over the past four years, and he's amassed at least 57 receptions, 577 yards and four scores in all of those seasons.
