Eagles' Nick Sirianni, Howie Roseman to Hold Press Conference amid HC's Return Rumors
It appears Nick Sirianni will remain the head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles for at least one more season.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Monday that Sirianni and general manager Howie Roseman will hold a joint end-of-season press conference on Wednesday, adding that "all signs continue to point to Sirianni returning for the 2024 season."
Even if Sirianni stays, major changes are expected on his coaching staff. According to multiple reports, defensive coordinator Sean Desai—who was essentially demoted midseason and ceded play-calling duties to Matt Patricia—has been fired:

And as for Patricia, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported that he didn't plan on remaining with the organization:
It's hard to imagine the Eagles would have welcomed a reunion—his defense was even more of a disaster than the Desai-led group.
It's also possible that the team will move on from offensive coordinator Brian Johnson. The Eagles offense became predictable and ineffective down the stretch, and Ralph Vacchiano of Fox Sports reported that Jalen Hurts and Johnson often weren't aligned this season:
"One team source said Hurts audibled and freelanced more frequently late in the season, and that he and Johnson rarely seemed to be on the same page. Hurts regressed badly during the six-game slide, throwing just six touchdown passes with five interceptions. And the Eagles got away from their dangerous run-pass option attack, as Johnson shied away from the running game in general. In fact, Hurts unbelievably had just one carry in the loss to the Bucs, and that didn't appear to be a designed run."
Meanwhile, Sirianni's track record thus far as a head coach—a 34-17 record, three postseason berths and a trip to the Super Bowl in the 2022 season—probably earned him a reprieve.
But the Eagles have far too talented a roster to finish the season in utter calamity. The Birds went from a 10-1 start to a streak of six losses in seven games, including a 32-9 blowout defeat against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round.
Sirianni might have another year on the job, but he's on the hottest of seats entering the 2024 campaign. Another disappointment won't fly in Philadelphia.
