WWE News: RVD's Return Would Be Better Than Chris Jericho's Flop

The WWE made the biggest hoopla over the botched return of former world champion Chris Jericho, but his atrocious flop would not be what happens when Rob Van Dam makes his long-awaited arrival.

WrestleZone is reporting that after RVD’s two-year contract is over in March, he will consider reemerging in the WWE. That is the best news for both the WWE and RVD.

It was the PG era that drove RVD out of the company, but all signs point to a change in philosophy for the WWE. That means when RVD comes back, he will be one of the biggest faces in the company again.

RVD told the Baltimore Sun about a possible return to the WWE a few months back:

"

One thing that's for sure is that WWE and I do have a good-faith understanding that if and when I'm ready to return that I’ll be talking to them. They look forward and hope that we'll be doing business again.

"

If the people in charge of the WWE don’t pull the trigger on a possible re-signing of Rob Van Dam, they need to be checked into a mental institution. Especially Vince McMahon.

Despite being 42 years old, RVD is a better worker than 90 percent of the WWE superstars and more over with the crowd than just as many. He has the ring smarts to put on a five-star match with any opponent, and his willingness to sell moves and put people over will be invaluable to a company trying to build new stars in a hurry.

Plus, look at all the feuds it would open up. While it's obvious that an RVD return wouldn’t be until after WrestleMania, there is a chance that CM Punk and RVD could work a program together or even Daniel Bryan and RVD. The better the technical wrestler, the better the matches will be with the ECW legend.

Of all the possible feuds that I would love to see involving RVD, squaring off with Dolph Ziggler should be the first thing he should do. Not only would they put on five-star matches every single time they wrestled, Ziggler as a cocky heel and RVD as a cocky face would have epic battles that the crowd could get behind.

There are too many options that RVD opens with his return that not bringing him back would hurt the company in the long run.
