Fantasy Football Big Board: Complete 2023 PPR Player Rankings for Week 12
It's Week 12. Thanksgiving Week. The fantasy football stretch run is in full gear. And with three games on Thursday and one on Friday, this is both one of the most critical and weirdest weeks of the year.
With just a few weeks until the playoffs, fantasy managers want to feast on points in juicy matchups. And despite it being Thanksgiving, no one wants a turkey.
For every team jockeying for playoff seeding and a first-round bye, there are two that need a win in Week 12 just to make the playoffs at all.
This column aims to help you find success in Week 12, with position-by-position rankings for PPR leagues, some matchups to target and avoid, and a list of the top 100 players overall for Week 12.

Quarterbacks
1 of 6
There's been a theme at the quarterback position this year, but it hasn't been a good one.
Injuries. So many injuries.
Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears and Kyler Murray of the Arizona Cardinals have missed a big chunk of the season, while Anthony Richardson of the Indianapolis Colts and Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns have been knocked out for the season.
And in Week 11, the cruelest blow of all came: Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals was lost for the year when he tore ligaments in his wrist against the Baltimore Ravens last week.
It's not just a matter of the havoc those injuries have wreaked under center. The loss of a team's starting quarterback impacts the entire offense, from running backs to wide receivers and tight ends.
We'll get to the fallout at those positions soon enough, but we first have to sift through a list of signal-callers that has left managers in two-QB and "superflex" leagues making some interesting decisions.
Good Matchups
Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars (at HOU) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,400]
Lawrence had been mired in something of a slump, but he broke out last week, throwing two touchdown passes and running for another pair of scores. This week, the Jaguars face C.J. Stroud and the Houston Texans in a battle between two teams that rank 25th or worse in pass defense this season.
Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys (vs. WAS) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,800]
Prescott's string of 300-yard passing efforts was snapped in last week's blowout win over the Carolina Panthers, but he could start another one on Thanksgiving against a Washington Commanders pass defense that just got lit up by Tommy DeVito of the New York Giants.
Bad Matchups
Will Levis, Tennessee Titans (vs. CAR) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,300]
Levis did at least manage to toss a pair of touchdown passes last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars. But he also barely cleared 150 passing yards and faces a Panthers pass defense in Week 12 that held Prescott under 200 passing yards a week ago.
Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos (vs. CLE) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,400]
After a slow start to the season, Wilson has picked things up of late, ranking inside the top 15 at the position since Week 7. This week, however, Wilson and the Broncos take on a Cleveland pass defense that's allowing just 143.7 passing yards per game this season.
Sleeper
Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts (vs. TB) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,100]
Minshew's last couple of games against the bye were quiet, and he hasn't thrown multiple touchdown passes or hit 200 passing yards in a game since Week 8. But the Buccaneers are last in the NFC in pass defense and rank inside the top 10 in fantasy points per game allowed to quarterbacks this season.

Running Backs
2 of 6
The quarterback position isn't the only spot that has been hit by injuries in fantasy football. Running backs are the hardest-hit position in the game, and Week 11 was no exception.
In what has already been a disappointing season for the Green Bay Packers, things took a turn for the worse last week when Aaron Jones suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury against the Los Angeles Chargers. Luckily, it isn't believed to be season-ending, and A.J. Dillon will be Green Bay's lead back against the Detroit Lions on Thursday.
It's a similar situation with Kenneth Walker III of the Seattle Seahawks. His oblique injury isn't as serious, but with the Seahawks also playing on a short week, he's won't make it back by Thursday night. Rookie Zach Charbonnet will function as lead back in a vital matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.
It's not all doom and gloom, though. Over the first six weeks of the 2023 campaign, Kyren Williams of the Los Angeles Rams was a top-five PPR option at his position. After a stint on injured reserve with a knee injury, he is expected to return to action in Week 12 against the Arizona Cardinals.
Good Matchups
Derrick Henry, Tennessee Titans (vs. CAR) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,400]
Henry hasn't met expectations this season—he's topped 100 rushing yards in a game just twice this season. But this week's matchup with Carolina could pave the way for a third such performance. The Panthers lead the NFC in PPR points per game allowed to running backs.
Rachaad White, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (at IND) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,100]
There isn't a more surprising (or frankly inefficient) top-10 fantasy running back this year than White, who is averaging less than 3.5 yards per carry. But how he gets fantasy points isn't as important as actually getting them, and he draws a top-five fantasy matchup for RBs this week with the Colts.
Bad Matchups
James Cook, Buffalo Bills (at PHI) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,200]
Cook has been solid this season, spending most of 2023 as a mid-range second starter in the backfield. But this week's big showdown with the Eagles is a brutal matchup. No team allows fewer yards per game on the ground this season.
Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons (vs. NO) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,500]
It's not bad enough that Robinson's workload varies greatly from week to week depending on Arthur Smith's mood, but now he faces a New Orleans Saints defense allowing the third-fewest PPR points per game to running backs this season.
Sleeper
Kareem Hunt, Cleveland Browns (at DEN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $4,800]
Hunt and Jerome Ford each had 12 carries last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. This week, the Browns take on a Denver Broncos defense that, while improved in recent weeks, still leads the NFL in rushing yards per game allowed.

50. Tank Bigsby, JAX (at HOU)
Wide Receivers
3 of 6
Raise your hand if you thought at the outset of the season that both Nico Collins and rookie Nathaniel "Tank" Dell of the Houston Texans would both be listed among the top-20 fantasy receivers in terms of PPR points per game after 11 weeks.
Now put your hand down. The holidays are here and if Santa finds out you've been lying, you'll get a lump of coal in your stocking.
Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is on pace to not only shatter the rookie record for passing yardage but also become the first first-year signal-caller in league history to eclipse 5,000 passing yards in a season. Both Collins and Dell have benefitted greatly from all those passing yards.
And given where they were drafted, they have become the kind of value play that wins fantasy leagues.
Good Matchups
Michael Pittman Jr., Indianapolis Colts (vs. TB) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,800]
Pittman has been remarkably consistent of late, catching eight passes in each of his last three games. He should be able to post solid numbers again in Week 12 against a Tampa pass defense allowing just over 270 passing yards per game.
Adam Thielen, Carolina Panthers (at TEN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $7,300]
After a red-hot start to the season, Thielen has cooled off—in part because the entire Panthers offense has struggled. For the second season in a row, though, the Titans have struggled against the pass, surrendering the sixth-most PPR points per game to WRs in 2023.
Bad Matchups
DeAndre Hopkins, Tennessee Titans (vs. CAR) [DraftKings DFS Value: $6,100]
Hopkins had a massive first game with Will Levis at quarterback, but his production has tailed off since. Not much has gone right in Charlotte this season, but the Panthers pass defense has played fairly well and is sixth in the league in passing yards allowed per game.
DeVonta Smith, Philadelphia Eagles (vs. BUF) [DraftKings DFS Value: $7,100]
A.J. Brown is a pass-catching cyborg sent from the future to humiliate defensive backs. But Smith is a bit more mortal, and he faces a Buffalo Bills defense that ranks 10th against the pass and 26th in PPR points per game allowed to wide receivers in 2023.
Sleeper
Khalil Shakir, Buffalo Bills (at PHI) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,600]
Shakir had a big game last week against the New York Jets with three catches for 115 yards and a touchdown. The deep threat is a feast/famine play, but the Eagles have been kind to opposing fantasy receivers in 2023.
Week 12 Wide Receiver Rankings
1. Tyreek Hill, MIA (at NYJ)
2. A.J. Brown, PHI (vs. BUF)
3. CeeDee Lamb, DAL (vs. WAS)

5. Keenan Allen, LAC (vs. BAL)

Tight Ends
4 of 6
The tight end position was also rocked by a major injury last week.
There's an "outside chance" Mark Andrews of the Baltimore Ravens could return this season after injuring his ankle last week against the Cincinnati Bengals. But from a fantasy perspective, his 2023 season is over. Isaiah Likely has shown some fantasy upside when Andrews has been out in the past, but it's still a huge blow to fantasy managers.
Folks with shares of T.J. Hockenson of the Minnesota Vikings are in a considerably better mood. While he was held to just 55 yards on four catches in Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos, the fifth-year veteran heads into Week 12 as the highest-scoring TE in fantasy football.
That may not hold, but given Hockenson was drafted multiple rounds later than Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs, he's been the better value of the top two tight ends in 2023.
Good Matchups
Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints (at ATL) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,000]
There's always at least some risk involved in starting Hill: You never really know from one week to the next what his role in the New Orleans offense will be. But he's topped 20 PPR points in two of his past three games, and the Falcons have been a plus matchup for tight ends this season.
Dalton Kincaid, Buffalo Bills (at PHI) [DraftKings DFS Value: $5,300]
Last week, Kincaid led the Bills in catches and receiving yards and had just one fewer target than Stefon Diggs. The rookie has become a major part of the passing attack, and the Eagles have been surprisingly porous against the pass this season.
Bad Matchups
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots (at NYG) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,400]
In Weeks 1 and Week 2, Henry eclipsed 15 PPR points—a feat he has not accomplished since then. The Patriots offense is a complete mess, and the Giants have been stingy to opposing tight ends from a fantasy perspective this season.
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams (at AZ) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,500]
Higbee was almost invisible last week against the Seattle Seahawks, managing just one catch for 17 yards. Even with Cooper Kupp (ankle) looking unlikely to play, the 30-year-old just isn't seeing the targets to be fantasy-relevant, especially in a bad matchup.
Sleeper
Pat Freiermuth, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs. CIN) [DraftKings DFS Value: $2,900]
The Pittsburgh offense isn't exactly a juggernaut, and Freiermuth had just a single reception in his first game back from injured reserve. But the 25-year-old has shown the ability to be fantasy-relevant, and the Bengals have allowed the sixth-most PPR points per game to TEs this season.
Week 12 Tight End Rankings
1. Travis Kelce, KC (at LV)
2. T.J. Hockenson, MIN (vs. CHI)
3. George Kittle, SF (at SEA)
4. Dalton Kincaid, BUF (at PHI)
5. Sam LaPorta, DET (vs. GB)

Kickers and Defenses
5 of 6
At this point in the season, I'm tired of talking about the Dallas Cowboys defense. I have led off this portion of this column with edge-rusher Micah Parsons and Co. more than once.
But there's a reason I keep talking up them: Fantasy football's No. 1 defense keeps scoring touchdowns. Or more appropriately, cornerback DaRon Bland keeps scoring touchdowns.
Last Sunday, he tied an NFL record with his fourth pick-six of the season. Per Nick Harris of the team's website, he now has his sights set on breaking the record:
"It just makes another goal to break it. I think it was when I touched the end zone, it was like, 'Wow, I just did it. I tied the record.' I'm level-headed now and I want to go break it. It wasn't really about the record. It's really about being in the history books, being remembered."
Bland has more touchdown "catches" than Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams, Chris Olave of the New Orleans Saints, Jaylen Waddle of the Miami Dolphins and DK Metcalf of the Seattle Seahawks. He has as many scores as Garrett Wilson of the New York Jets and Terry McLaurin of the Washington Commanders combined.
Good Matchups
Brandon Aubrey, Dallas Cowboys (vs. WAS)
Great, more Cowboys. Only Dustin Hopkins of the Cleveland Browns has more fantasy points among kickers this season, and Thursday, Dallas hosts a Commanders team that leads the NFC in points per game allowed to the position.
New York Giants Defense (vs. NE) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,500]
Thanks to six takeaways, four sacks and a defensive touchdown last week against the Commanders, the Giants were the highest scoring fantasy defense of Week 11. Now they take on a Patriots team that leads the AFC in fantasy points per game surrendered to defenses.
Bad Matchups
Daniel Carlson, Las Vegas Raiders (vs. KC)
The overall funk the Vegas offense is in has impacted Carlson as well—last year's third-ranked fantasy kicker has fallen outside the top 15 in points. No team in the league has given up fewer points per game to kickers this year than the Chiefs.
Jacksonville Jaguars Defense (at HOU) [DraftKings DFS Value: $3,000]
Last week's solid effort against the Tennessee Titans thrust the Jaguars back into the top-10 fantasy defenses for the season. But the Texans are a bottom-five matchup for the position, and the last time these teams met, Houston stunned the Jags 34-14 in Jacksonville.
Sleeper
Houston Texans Defense (vs. JAX) [DraftKings DFS Value: $2,600]
The Texans are the cheapest team defense available for Sunday's slate at DraftKings, and while Houston ranks outside the top-20 defenses in points for the season, the Jaguars have given up the 12th-most points per game to opposing defenses.

Top 100 Players Overall
6 of 6
Before we get to the Top 100 Players overall for Week 12 (a list that can aid with "flex" lineup calls), you know what time it is.
It's notes time.
First, there are no quarterbacks listed here. The list of viable QB2s available to fantasy managers in 2QB and "superflex" leagues has seemingly shrunk by the week this season, but if you are fortunate enough to have a viable second quarterback, you're going to want to start him.
Second, likely as a result of three games on Thursday and another on Friday, there are no teams on bye in Week 12. All 32 teams are in action.
Finally, if the playoffs are all but out of the question—do yourself and your leaguemates a favor—play Week 12 just like you did Week 2. Make waiver claims, set your lineup and make every effort to win. It's the right thing to do.
Remember to get those lineups set for the early game Thursday, and have a fantastic holiday weekend.
