WWE Backlash 2023 Match Results That are Guaranteed to Happen

Donald WoodMay 5, 2023

When the 2023 edition of WWE's Backlash premium live event takes place on Saturday, all eyes will be on San Juan, Puerto Rico, and which Superstars are guaranteed to win.

With the company returning to Puerto Rico for the first time since 2005, expect Triple H and WWE Creative to put on a memorable show guaranteed to thrill the friends filling the Coliseo de Puerto Rico José Miguel Agrelot.

Add in the fact that international musical superstar Bad Bunny will not only be in attendance, but also fighting in a match against Damian Priest, and the result should be an event that goes down in history for all the right reasons.

As wrestling fans prepare for Backlash, here are the match results guaranteed to happen.

Bianca Belair Steals Show With Iyo Sky

There are a few fans who genuinely believe Iyo Sky has a chance to dethrone Bianca Belair for the Raw Women's Championship, but that does not mean the two performers won't steal the show.

Belair is a lock to walk out victorious, but Sky has been waiting to prove why she is one of the most talented female wrestlers in the world. Even in a loss, she can showcase the talent that has been hidden while working with her Damage CTRL stablemates.

Since becoming champion, the EST has performed valiantly against all of the top challengers put in her way, resulting in elite matchups and stellar in-ring performances. At Backlash, the WWE Universe should expect another five-star classic.

As long as fans understand Sky is just there to take the loss, though, they will thoroughly enjoy the bout.

Rhea Ripley Destroys Zelina Vega

While Belair is sure to put on a show with Sky, there is a chance that WWE Creative uses Zelina Vega's Puerto Rican heritage to get Rhea Ripley even more over as a heel.

If the SmackDown women's champion walks into San Juan and utterly decimates Vega, causing her young fans in attendance to cry and the crowd to despise her, she will continue her ascent as one of the top heels in the business.

Vega will undoubtedly get enough offense in during the match to get the crowd invested in a possible victory, but watching Ripley methodically dominate the fan favorite would whip those in attendance into a frenzy and give the champion all the momentum she needs heading into the summer.

There is no doubt that Vega is supremely talented and completely underutilized, but in Puerto Rico, she will make her challenger the most despised person in the building, and she will do her job to perfection.

Seth Rollins Stuns Omos

Watching Brock Lesnar put over Omos and his physical abilities during WrestleMania was something to behold, but the challenger lost that match and now faces another tough test against the company's workhorse in Seth Rollins.

Rollins has been marred in secondary feuds and lackluster storylines for months, despite his elite in-ring work and the company's dependence on him night after night.

Now, with a new world heavyweight title up for grabs, Rollins looks to be one of the top favorites to win the belt, and a massive victory over a massive superstar like Omos would be the catapult he needs for that achievement.

At some point, Omos also needs a significant win if fans are supposed to take him seriously, but losing to Lesnar and Rollins in back-to-back premium live event matches is nothing to scoff at. He is growing as a performer and character and should be due for a major push in the second half of the year.

Unfortunately for Omos, the push starts after Rollins earns a marquee win at Backlash.
