2012 NFL Draft Predictions: Projecting the Top Offensive Playmakers

Justine BrownJun 7, 2018

With the NFL regular season all finished up, 2012 draft talk has already began.

This year's draft is not overly offense-heavy, but there are a few players who will make some noise during their rookie seasons. Take a look at who will be the top four offensive playmakers of the 2012 NFL draft class.

Andrew Luck

1 of 4

This choice must have a disclaimer.  Andrew Luck will be the top offensive playmaker given the opportunity to play.  If the Colts take Luck then there is a good chance he could spend a year or so sitting behind Peyton Manning.

However, Luck is the No. 1 prospect for a reason.  He is the most pro-ready quarterback, with experience in a pro-style offense, and most scouts believe he is ready to lead a team right now.

Robert Griffin III

2 of 4

Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III won the Heisman because play making is his M.O. Griffin is a do-it-all quarterback who can get it done with his legs or his arm, or by putting the two together and scrambling to make a throw. Griffin is going to go to a team where he is needed immediately and have the opportunity to showcase his talents.

Justin Blackmon

3 of 4

Wide receiver Justin Blackmon is player who could likely end up as a top-five pick in the draft.  Coming off of a hugely successful career at Oklahoma State, Blackmon returned for his senior season and didn't disappoint.

Blackmon is a sure handed receiver that is not afraid to get physical and go up after a ball. Nine times out of 10, if a ball goes up in Blackmon's territory, he is coming down with it.  What Blackmon lacks in speed he makes up for by outfighting and outsmarting his defender.

Michael Floyd

4 of 4

Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd is does not have the speed of an A.J. Green, but Floyd is as almost as tall at 6'3" and a little bit bigger.  Floyd is a guy that has great hands and will use his size and length to go up and get a ball at it's peak before a defender even has a chance to get their hands on it.

While Trent Richardson was another player to consider here, it is hard to put him on this list because where he will end up is unpredictable.  Very few teams immediate need is a running back this year therefore he could end up in a back up role somewhere.
