
Tom Brady's Father Says He's Happy QB Chose to Retire from NFL over Playing for 49ers
Tom Brady Sr. is pleased that his son elected to retire instead of chasing another Super Bowl title on the San Francisco 49ers.
"We would've enjoyed him playing in San Francisco, but we're much happier with his decision doing this than playing for the 49ers," he said, per Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.
Tom Brady announced his retirement after 23 seasons with a video message Wednesday. While the 45-year-old also temporarily retired last offseason before returning, he clarified that this one is "for good":

That means an end to the greatest career in NFL history, which included seven Super Bowl titles, five Super Bowl MVPs, three league MVPs, two Offensive Player of the Year awards and 15 Pro Bowl selections.
The New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend perhaps could have ended up in San Francisco for the 2023 campaign given the 49ers' uncertainty at the position, with Trey Lance, Jimmy Garoppolo and Brock Purdy all coming off injuries, but the 2022 season will be his last.
That is welcome news for Tom Brady Sr.
