Lakers HC Darvin Ham on LeBron James: 'The Best Player on Earth Can't Get a Call'
The Los Angeles Lakers are not happy with the NBA's officials.
Namely, they are annoyed over a non-call on a LeBron James' drive in the dying moments of the fourth quarter in an eventual 125-121 overtime loss against the Boston Celtics.
"The best player on Earth can't get a call," Lakers head coach Darvin Ham told reporters after the game. "It's amazing."
James let his feelings be known both on Twitter and in his own postgame remarks.
"It's challenging," he said of not having more foul calls go his way. "I don't get it. I'm attacking the paint, just as much as any of the guys in this league that's shooting double-digit free throws a night, and I don't get it. I don't understand it."
In defense of the Lakers and James, crew chief Eric Lewis acknowledged during a pool report that officials missed the foul on James at the end of regulation.
"There was contact," he said. "At the time, during the game, we did not see a foul. The crew missed the play."
Little consolation for the 23-27 Lakers, who have continued to feel aggrieved with the officiating this season.
