Bulls vs. Clippers Video: Top Highlights from Derrick Rose, Blake Griffin & More
What an entertaining game. The Bulls and the Clippers got together for a NBA contest that produced the most wow moments of any game in the young season thus far.
That is especially impressive since the game didn't involve the Miami Heat, as the Heatles have dominated the highlight reels. The game featured sparkling plays from Chris Paul, Derrick Rose, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.
This is the type of game that produces several impressive still shots for each team's media guide. In the end, the Bulls were too strong for the Clippers, even at Staples Center.
The Clippers played without Chauncey Billups, but I'm not sure his presence would have changed the outcome. The Bulls won this exciting game 114-101.
Check out the best from Staples last night.
DeAndre Jordan Welcomes the Bulls to Lob City
1 of 6DeAndre can't shoot free throws, he goes for too many head fakes on defense, but he can run and jump like no other center in the NBA (besides Dwight Howard).
He gave the Bulls a detailed explanation of both on this play. Chris Paul starts the break with a pass to Caron Butler, who has caught on to Lob City. Butler lofts it up, Jordan does the rest, depositing it with one hand early in the first quarter.
At the end of the highlight, the Bulls answered with a 17-foot jump shot from Carlos Boozer. The Bulls had an answer for the Clippers' energy all night.
Derrick Rose Dream Shake?
2 of 6At the 1:50 mark of this D.Rose highlight, Rose channels his inner Hakeem Olajuwon. On the hard drive, he gives Brian Cook, the hard ball fake, sends him flying and finishes with the jump hook.
Great move.
Blake Griffin Makes Noah Fall
3 of 6Blake takes the pass from CP3, gives Noah the stutter-step fake to the right, then explodes to his left for the two-hand slam,
Meanwhile, Joakim Noah falls to one knee. It's too late, Jo, we saw it. Don't feel bad, Blake does this to everybody.
CP3 Puts D. Rose in the Mix
4 of 6Chris Paul got tired of Derrick Rose taking him and everyone else off the dribble all night. He decides to show Rose he's got a little shake and bake in his cart as well.
This mixtape courtesy of CP3...exclusive. Paul takes Rose off the yo-yo and finishes with the sweet lay up at the basket for two in the third quarter.
Vicious Pick-and-Roll Finish
5 of 6Blake and CP3 form the most devastating pick-and-roll combination I've ever seen, and they'll only get better. Once Blake nails down a dependable jump shot, and he can offer a pop option to the play, they could be unstoppable.
Here Blake smokes one through, as he is so high he adjusts mid-air, watching the ball go through as he passes under the rim.
Blake had a monster game with 34 points and 13 rebounds.
Last Words: Too Big, Too Strong, Too Fast for You...Chris Paul
6 of 6The Clippers may have won the highlights contest, but the Bulls won the game. Derrick Rose decided to deliver this parting shot to Paul and the Clippers right before he exited the game. Rose delivered perhaps his most balanced and dominant performance of his young and stellar career.
Rose finished with 29 points, eight rebounds and 16 assists, outplaying Chris Paul, who finished with 15 points, 14 assists and four steals.
Here he delivers the nasty crossover, penetrates and dishes to Noah, who finishes off the Clippers with the slam.
Game, set and match, Bulls.
