Brock Lesnar Retired: Why Lesnar Needs to Go Back to WWE

Brandon GalvinDec 30, 2011

Brock Lesnar has retired from UFC after he was destroyed by Alistair Overeem inside the unforgiving Octagon at UFC 141.

After battling illness for far too long, this is the wisest decision Lesnar has ever made in his career.

Next to Sable, of course.

Now, it's time for Lesnar to make the second best decision for his career and go back to Vince McMahon's WWE Universe.

Despite attempts to be an NFL and UFC superstar, Lesnar's roots have always been and always will be wrestling. He has been one of the very best grapplers since he first put on a pair of trunks. The man-beast was one of the most destructive forces inside the squared circle anybody has ever seen.

He may not enjoy bowing his head in shame after diminishing his roots, but McMahon and WWE fans are among the most forgiving ever. As long as it's entertaining, they'll buy into it. With WrestleMania on the horizon, now is the perfect time for Lesnar to go crawling back to WWE for that big pay day and high-profile match.

At this point, there isn't a bigger match that could rival The Rock vs. John Cena at WrestleMania 28 than Lesnar vs. The Undertaker with "The Streak" on the line. No doubt 'Taker walks out victorious, but Lesnar needs to understand that there is no shame in losing to The Dead Man. More importantly, Undertaker helped push him to megastardom in 2002 with their epic feud.

Fans have been screaming for this fight ever since they saw the two behemoths jawing at a UFC 121. The build is there and now is the perfect time to capitalize.

At this point, I'm sure Undertaker would love to get his hands on Lesnar. 'Taker is the best big man ever. He has evolved as an in-ring performer like none other, constantly integrating new signature moves and submission maneuvers. Everyone wants to see these two go toe-to-toe once again.

The loss to Overeem surely hurts, especially after he dropped like a sack of potatoes to a kick to the midsection. Still, it couldn't have come at a better time. WWE is there for you, Brock, go take it.
