Miami Heat Video: Watch King James and Dwyane Wade Combine for Winning Alley-Oop

Ryan RudnanskyDec 30, 2011

Towards the end of the first half on Friday, Minnesota Timberwolves rising star Ricky Rubio threw a pretty alley-oop over the heads of the Miami Heat team.

To end the game, the Heat returned the favor.

With just six seconds remaining on Friday and the score knotted 101-101, LeBron James, inbounding the ball, found Dwyane Wade across the court for an alley-oop of their own.

Wade, coming off a screen by Chris Bosh, caught the ball in mid-air and smoothly laid the ball in with 4.6 seconds left, and the Heat escaped with a 103-101 win in front of a stunned Target Center.

The devastating play spoiled a good effort for the Timberwolves, who have looked better in Rubio's first season with the team. The Timberwolves had outscored the Heat in the fourth quarter 26-19 before the game-deciding alley-oop, as Rubio's 12-point, 12-assist, six-rebound effort went for naught.

As for the Heat, they are now 4-0 to start the season and have treated fans to several highlights involving the "Big Three" of James, Wade and Bosh.

One of the Heat's roadblocks early last season was that James, Wade and Bosh hadn't played together. It was evident early that they needed to gel and learn how to play with one another. But they caught on after a while and made it all the way to the NBA Finals.

This season, they look even better together, and it has many thinking they can take the title.

With plays like this, the rest of the NBA should be worried.
