UFC 141 Results: Final Prediction for Manvel Gamburyan vs. Diego Nunes

Tim McTiernanDec 30, 2011

In the first fight of the night in the UFC 141 card, featherweights Manvel "The Anvil" Gamburyan and Diego Nunes will square off, looking to climb the ladder towards a title shot.

Diego Nunes is known as a well-rounded fighter with some flashy kicks, and he'll come into this fight sporting a 16-2 record. His only two losses have come at the hands of featherweight and lightweight title challengers, Kenny Florian and LC Davis, respectively.

Prior to joining the WEC, Nunes had finished all 11 of his opponents, five by knockout and six by submission. However, since that time, he has not finished a single opponent and has gone 5-2.

Nunes lost to Florian in his last fight and has been out of the cage for just over six months.

Manny Gamburyan has been with ZUFFA for quite some time as he originally started off as a lightweight in the UFC, on season five of The Ultimate Fighter, where he lost in the finale to Nate Diaz.

After dropping two straight bouts at lightweight, Gamburyan opted to drop to featherweight and move to the WEC, where he went 3-1, with the lone loss coming to Jose Aldo.

In his first fight after rejoining the UFC, Gamburyan lost a split decision to Tyson Griffin, so he will be looking to get back in the win column tonight.

These two are sure to have an absolute brawl. Cardio will not be an issue in this featherweight fight and these two will push the pace the entire time.

However, in the end, expect Diego Nunes to pull out the unanimous decision victory and get back to his winning ways.
