BCS Bowl Predictions 2012: Oklahoma State Will Dominate Stanford in Fiesta Bowl

Austin GreenDec 30, 2011

Oklahoma State got screwed out of a national title shot, but they'll make up for it by dominating Stanford in the Fiesta Bowl.

The Cowboys have a championship-caliber resume, but instead of getting their crack at LSU, they've been relegated to the title game's little brother.

So while OSU fans dream about what could have been, they can at least take solace in the fact that their team will destroy Stanford on Monday.

The Cowboys offense is unstoppable, putting up a ridiculous 49.3 points per game. They've scored 30 or more in every game and have racked up at least 59 points on five different occasions.

While Andrew Luck gets all the media love, Brandon Weeden has undoubtedly had the better year.

In the regular season, the senior was third in the nation in passing yards (4,328) and fifth in touchdowns (34). He also has the luxury of throwing to the best receiver in college football in Justin Blackmon.

Blackmon, who will be a top-10 pick in the upcoming NFL draft, is third in the nation in receptions (113), ninth in receiving yards (1,336) and tied for fourth in touchdown catches (15).

Stanford also has a potent offense, but I have no faith in their defense. They've only faced two BCS-caliber offenses (USC and Oregon), and they gave up 48 and 53 points.

Oklahoma State's defense is far from elite, but they've proven that they can step up against top offenses. In the regular season finale, they held rival Oklahoma to just 10 points.

Much like Oregon before them, you can expect the Cowboys to score with ease. Weeden and Blackmon will connect all day long, leading OSU to a dominant victory.

Final Prediction: Oklahoma State 52, Stanford 34
