Charlotte Bobcats Owner Michael Jordan to Be Wed Again, Sorry Ladies

Jason HarrelDec 29, 2011

The iconic Chicago Bull star and now Charlotte Bobcats owner Michael Jordan had a pretty special Christmas. He popped the question all guys get nervous about asking as he proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Yvette Prieto. The two have been dating since 2008, two years after his first marriage ended.

Prieto, a Cuban-born model that has done work for Alexander Wang, has been with Jordan for over three years and has been living with Jordan in his Florida house. The two made the proposal official over Christmas weekend, and no official wedding date has been set yet.

As part of this marriage she could get half of the franchise in a divorce. Jordan may want to protect himself in case another situation comes up where she wants more than just some sweet Air Jordan shoes.

This will be Jordan’s second marriage. He was married to his first wife, Juanita Vanoy, for 17 years as the couple divorced in 2006. They have three children together.

The divorce between the 48-year-old and his wife was said to be one of the largest divorce settlements in history, with Jordan allegedly paying more than $150 million in the settlement.

Of course, being one of the greatest NBA players ever, you can afford a hit to your wallet like that and not have to worry about hurting your extravagant lifestyle.

Jordan led the Bulls to six championships and was a five-time NBA MVP. He was a first-round pick, third overall, out of North Carolina in the 1984 NBA draft.

I guess it only takes pretty looks and charm to get through the All-Star's heart and into his fortune.
