WWE News: Huge Update on Plans for Layla's Return and Natalya in 2012

The WWE Divas division is like an aggravating little brother: No matter how much he bothers you, you have to put up with him anyway.

Needless to say, the Divas division gets on my nerves just about every week because it’s booked so badly and features hardly any women who actually know how to wrestle. I would try to be a little more optimistic about the division, but unfortunately, it doesn’t have many saving graces. 

Thankfully, though, we may see a couple of those saving graces in 2012. 

From the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via SEScoops.com):

Layla is slated to enter the Divas Championship picture upon her return from injury due to the feeling that Beth Phoenix’s feud with Kelly Kelly and Eve Torres has worn out. Natalya is also expected to vy for the title in 2012.

Surprise, surprise—some people within WWE are actually using their brains for a change! 

I don’t think I’m alone in saying that I’m one more Beth vs. Kelly Kelly or Beth vs. Eve match from going bungee jumping without the bungee. We saw so many matches involving those three and Natalya in 2011 that I honestly think it would be impossible to count them all. 

We need someone to come and prevent us from having to sit through another steaming pile of crap of a match, and that someone appears to be Layla. 

I wasn’t a big fan of Layla at first, but she’s grown on me over the past two years. She improved drastically in the ring, she has a ton of charisma and, perhaps most importantly, she provides a fresh change in a Divas division that tends to do the same thing over and over again. 

I’d love to see Layla come back before the Royal Rumble, feud with Beth Phoenix for the Divas Championship and then cause a rift between Beth and Natalya that leads to Beth vs. Natalya for the title at WrestleMania 28. By that time, Kharma should be nearing her return as well, so whoever wins that Beth/Natalya feud will have their next feud lined up. 

There you go, WWE. I just did all the booking for your Divas division for the next four months, and it only took me about 30 seconds to come up with it.
