Several NBA Teams Still in Need of a Big Man
While the NBA season has got off to a fast start, not all teams are satisfied with the current product they have on the floor.
With a decent crop of big men that were available on the market, several teams tried but failed to land the big body that they needed during the mini offseason period.
Here's a look at a few teams that could still use that big body.
Boston Celtics
They have no frontcourt depth and while Brandon Bass is a nice backup to Kevin Garnett at the power forward spot, they need a productive center. Jemaine O'Neal is better coming off the bench at this point in his career and his 2.7 points and 3.0 rebounds per game must be upgraded.
Dallas Mavericks
They miss Tyson Chandler badly, as the Mavericks are getting destroyed on the boards and torched on defense. They let Chandler walk and didn't find a way to replace what he brought to the team. It's the very thing that made this team special a season ago and without it they aren't a championship-caliber team.
Denver Nuggets
Denver is a very good team off to a very good start and while this is just nitpicking, they could use a better body than Timofey Mozgov at center. Denver is deep, but if they could acquire a productive body at the 5 then the Nuggets could be very dangerous.
Golden State Warriors
Mark Jackson's team has a new look for the sheer fact that they are playing defense now, but they tried to upgrade at center over Andris Biedrins and signing Kwame Brown isn't the answer. For them to contend they still need a productive center.
Minnesota Timberwolves
With the way Kevin Love is playing at the 4, imagine how good this young Timberwolves team would be if they had a productive body at the 5. Darko Milicic could give them the production he's giving them now off the bench if they had another quality center.
