Kyle Kuzma Won't Return to Wizards vs. Nets Because of Ankle Injury
Washington Wizards forward Kyle Kuzma has been ruled out of Saturday's game against the Brooklyn Nets after suffering a left ankle sprain.
The forward played just 11 minutes before leaving the game, finishing with two points and five assists on 0-of-6 shooting.
Kuzma is in his second season with Washington after spending four years with the Los Angeles Lakers, who traded him to the nation's capital as part of a blockbuster deal that sent Russell Westbrook to L.A.
The 27-year-old forward out of Flint, Michigan, and the University of Utah has averaged 21.6 points on 45.6 percent shooting, 7.7 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 35.4 minutes per game for Washington. He had a productive debut campaign with the Wizards as well thanks to 17.1 points and 8.5 rebounds per game.
Kuzma has been impressively durable this year as well, starting 50 of 51 possible games for the Wizards.
The latest injury could represent a setback for Washington if he misses more time, however.
Without Kuzma, Deni Avdija should see more playing time while Kristaps Porzingis becomes more of a focal point offensively.
