WWE News: CM Punk's 10 Best Interviews, Promos and Angles of 2011

For 2011, this was the year of CM Punk, as the superstar shook the foundation of the company with numerous interviews and promos that kicked in the door of the dull and complacent WWE bringing some entertainment and intrigue back to Monday and Friday nights.

With a variety of pipe bombs scattered through the following slideshow, let's take a look at the 10 best moments for CM Punk from the past year when he is wielding one of the most dangerous things in his arsenal—the microphone.

CM Punk: Actor?

If you fast forward about nine minutes into this clip from Raw earlier this year, you will see CM Punk acting better in just this short clip than Triple H, John Cena or any other WWE superstars who have found themselves in a WWE films production in response to the COO and Kevin Nash talking about Text-Gate from SummerSlam.

CM Punk vs. the Anonymous RAW General Manager

After being one of the most annoying gimmicks on Raw in quite some time, CM Punk had some fun, even making snow angels in the ring, with the anonymous general manager laptop as he remained in the ring until he was named the No. 1 contender for the WWE title that Monday night.  

CM Punk vs. John Cena, Money in the Bank Promo

While there have been other great rivalries during the past year in the WWE, the series of matches between John Cena and CM Punk during the summer had to be the best of 2011. It started with the epic match in Punk's hometown of Chicago at Money in the Bank as he won the WWE title with one of the best home-field advantages in recent memory.

CM Punk/John Cena SummerSlam Contract Signing

In his second contract signing segment of the summer, CM Punk made the promo for his match with John Cena at SummerSlam for the undisputed WWE Championship very entertaining. He attacked not only Cena but also Triple H for his substandard movie career, and John Laurinaitis for his recent releases of Vladmir Kozlov, Harry Smith and Chris Masters. 

CM Punk/Kevin Nash Post SummerSlam Segment

After getting attacked by Kevin Nash following his match at SummerSlam the previous night, CM Punk literally ran circles around the former nWo co-founder and multiple time world champion in this promo. This would set up for a match between Punk and Triple H a few weeks later at Night of Champions.

CM Punk/The Miz/Alberto Del Rio Contract Signing

In yet another contract signing segment for CM Punk, the WWE champion once again made the stale pro wrestling staple interesting between himself and his challengers, the Miz and Alberto Del Rio. Punk left them laying six days before the most recent Tables, Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view this month.

CM Punk/Triple H Segment

Before their no-disqualification match at this year's Night of Champions pay-per-view, Triple H and CM Punk had one final meeting after weeks of insults from Punk where the two rivals traded verbal barbs about a variety of topics in the present day WWE, which culminated with Triple H getting blasted in the head with a microphone to end the show.

CM Punk/Vince McMahon Contract Signing

On the eve of the Money in the Bank pay-per-view this past summer, Vince McMahon tried one last time to sign CM Punk to a long-term contract with the WWE but only received a verbal assault from the superstar that would become champion just six days later.

What Does CM Punk Google?

After a quick Google search about the trio of Alberto Del Rio, David Otunga and Johnny Ace, CM Punk found out that ADR is nine times more boring than Funk Man is boring and really not much on Otunga besides a bunch of stuff about his wife, Jennifer Hudson.

There was no other promo or interview by the current WWE champion that resounded around the world more than when CM Punk sat down at the top of the stage on Raw and delivered his shoot on Vince McMahon and the WWE this past summer.
