Carlo Ancelotti to Take over as Manger of Paris Saint-Germain
Paris Saint-Germain, the newly wealthy Ligue 1 leaders, are set to add an expensive manager to the collection of expensive players they have accrued.
Former Chelsea and AC Milan boss Carlo Ancelotti has flown into Paris and, according to L'Equipe and Le Parisien, is working out a deal that will see him take over as manager. The contract is reportedly for two and a half years and seven million euros.
PSG were taken over by the wealthy firm Qatar Sports Investments in the summer and have been making headlines since. In July, the club appointed Leonardo, then the manager of Inter Milan, as director of football operations. Leonardo signed several high-profile players away from Serie A, most notably the young Argentinan superstar Javier Pastore. It is further speculated that the club will sign David Beckham away from the LA Galaxy when his contract expires.

PSG currently sits atop the French Ligue 1. Their current manager, Antoine Kombouare, has yet to be officially relieved of his duties. However, the club has made clear their intentions to replace him by courting such high-profile names as Frank Rijkaard and Claude Makelele.
Ancelotti was most previously the manager of Chelsea, where he was sacked in May. However, he and Leonardo are well-acquainted, as Ancelotti was the manager of AC Milan whilst Leonardo was technical director for the club.
This signing is yet another clear indication of a shift in power in French football that may reverberate to the Champions League level in the next few years.
