Deion Sanders Divorce: How Pilar Sanders Learned of Impending Divorce

Hall of Fame football player Deion Sanders elected not to share some troubling news with his wife, Pilar Sanders, so instead she had to find out about his plans to divorce her via an entertainment news outlet. 

According to TMZ, Pilar first heard about her impending divorce from Deion by checking their website. Deion was always an outspoken guy during his football career, but somehow he lost the nerve to tell his wife he wanted a divorce. 

That's pretty pathetic.

The divorce rate is far too high in today's society, and telling a spouse such devastating news can be difficult. However, Deion should have had the guts to tell his wife face to face. 

Pilar's lawyer, Larry Friedman told TMZ that she was "heartbroken and surprised when [she] read ... that Deion announced his decision, on his own, to end their marriage."

"Pilar's sole focus and top priority for the last 12.5 years has been her marriage and children. Based on recent discoveries, [Pilar] now realizes that Deion did not view their family the same way." Friedman said. 

Deion doesn't plan to discuss anything else with the media other than his original statement, which just goes to show he's backing away from this whole incident. 

The couple was married in 1999 and they had three children together. Deion told the media that "Pilar and I have decided to end our marriage and move on to the next phase of our individual lives with mutual respect."

Apparently that isn't true since Pilar is claiming she found out about the divorce through TMZ. 

This is a bizarre situation, and nobody really knows who is telling the truth.

However, Deion made it obvious that he needs change in his life when he tweeted this on Tuesday morning. 

The TMZ report about Deion filing for divorce came on Tuesday afternoon. 

If Pilar really did find out about her impending divorce through TMZ then Deion should be ashamed of himself. It's one thing to want change, but he should be a man about it and tell her to her face. 

One can only hope that these two have since talked to one another about this ordeal. Divorce is a messy thing to go through, and really something that shouldn't ever happen but sadly it does.
