LSU Football Schedule 2012: New Schedule Confirms Trip Back to BCS Title Game

LSU seems to have things lined up for another BCS title game appearance. That being said, an SEC schedule is never a cakewalk. Even the middle-of-the-road teams provide a challenge. However, considering we're discussing LSU, the Tigers' SEC run should be relatively bump-free.

Most of the major roadblocks that could befall the Tigers are at least home games. Case in point, their Nov. 3rd clash with the Crimson Tide takes place in Baton Rouge. The Tide figure to be strong again next year, despite losing a few players to the NFL draft and graduation.

The Tigers will also get the South Carolina Gamecocks in Baton Rouge, who should have a healthy Marcus Lattimore, a mature JaDaveon Clowney and a more settled QB situation.

The other home games are certainly ones they should handle against Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

Meanwhile, The road ledger has one major potential impediment. That is, Arkansas on Nov. 24th.

Arkansas will be very tough this year, as they returned a healthy amount of impact players from this year's quality roster.

A rebuilding Auburn, young Florida and SEC newcomer Texas A&M round out the road schedule. The Tigers shouldn't get much resistance from the out-of-conference schedule, either, with the Washington Huskies representing the stiffest challenge there.

Most notably, the Tigers don't draw the Georgia Bulldogs in the regular season. Judging by the way the Bulldogs finished the 2011 season and the fact that the 2012 schedule doesn't have them playing Alabama, it looks like we may be in for an SEC title game rematch in 2012.

With the talent LSU has returning, as well as their schedule, it will be hard not to project them to return to the BCS title game.
