Watch LeBron James, Kobe Bryant and More Stars in Bizarre NBA Promo Video

The NBA couldn't dumb down the hype surrounding the opening tipoff of this shortened season if they tried.

A promo video featuring a bunch of literally big-headed NBA superstars sing "Happy Together" in a cheesy display is going to have absolutely no effect on an NBA audience who is just excited to see their favorite players back in action.

Admittedly, it's sort of funny. Some of the faces literally look like they're singing and it holds the same appeal as the viral holiday "Your Face Here" dance videos that circle around every Christmas. 

Still, it's a bizarre display and it's hard to believe that the marketing team couldn't piece together something better than this.

ABC seems to think big-headed athletes are marketing gold. This isn't the first time we saw them bust something like this out, and it doesn't appear that it's going to be the last.

This is the sort of commercial that leaves viewers thinking "what did I just watch?". Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this nightmare is going anywhere.

Despite their best efforts, this marketing team isn't going to ruin Christmas or the start of the NBA season.

Hopefully, they come to their senses and realize that the NBA needs creepy commercials like this about as much as it needs Stephon Marbury. It's going to be really interesting if they try to combine the "Where Amazing Happens" commercials with this one. Scary.
