Toronto Raptors Season Preview: What to Expect in Their First Week
The Toronto Raptors start off the season with a decent first week. Many basketball fans in Toronto are excited for the return of basketball.
The first three games of the season could possibly net the Raptors a 2-1 record.
They begin the season @ Cleveland.
Preview: Toronto @ Cleveland
Cleveland is a very young team and has much of its hopes for the future relying on the efforts of Kyrie Irving and Canadian Tristan Thompson, both rookies. The team is very young and will need to grow to become a possible competitor.
No one expects the Cavaliers to do much this season as many have them pegged for the basement in the East.
The Raptors should be able to beat the Cavs in Cleveland as long as they play tough defense on the rookies.
Final: Toronto 89, Cleveland 82: Ed Davis and DeMar DeRozan lead the Raps in Cleveland.
Preview: Indiana @ Toronto
The Pacers are one of those teams that are quietly going to have a solid season. With the addition of David West, and the continual progression of Tyler Hansbrough, George Hill and Darren Collison, they should shoot for a possible home playoff series or a five or six seed.
Although the Pacers have some great weapons, I think they will need some time to come together so the Raptors may be able to take advantage. With the home crowd on their side, they can possibly steal a win from a formidable foe.
Final: Toronto 92, Indiana 90: Raptors crowd helps eke out a win in the opener.
Preview: Toronto @ Dallas
The Mavericks are a veteran team that will show their consistency throughout the season to repeat as champions. They won’t surprise you on the floor as you know what they will try to do. That being said, they will just execute better than you and with that will celebrate another strong season.
Flying to Dallas to play after an emotional home opener victory, the Raptors will be gassed.
Final: Dallas 111, Toronto 90: The Mavs show the young Raptors about execution.
Happy Holidays to all.
