Erin Andrews: Newly-Single Sideline Reporter Gives Fans Early Christmas Present

Adam WellsDec 21, 2011

Erin Andrews has never been one to talk about her private life in any forum. It's understandable considering everything that she has been through, which is why it was surprising to see her respond to a Twitter question about who she was dating.

Perhaps this is just Andrews' way of giving a bone to her fans out there that are so desperate to find out anything about her so that she doesn't have to worry about all the gossip sites digging for information on her.

Of course, with Christmas just a few days away, maybe she was looking at lifting the spirits of everyone out there who thinks that they have a chance to date her. I would not put money on that theory, but stranger things have happened.

For those that didn't know, and I include myself in that group, Andrews was dating Josh Hopkins, whose claim to fame is a starring role on the ABC television show "Cougar Town."

Hopkins is having a hard time right now. First ABC delays the premiere of his show with no definite return date (though it is coming back), and then his relationship falls apart. But he is an actor—he can pull through this rough patch.

Andrews, on the other hand, is now going to be hounded with more questions about her personal life and trolls asking her out on Twitter.

It can't be easy to be Erin Andrews. She is always going to be thought of as a pretty face instead of someone who is good at her job. It's unfair and a stupid stereotype that so many people buy into.

While I don't particularly care what she does with her personal life, I can understand why sports fans would get excited about hearing the news that she is single.
