AC Milan vs Calgiari: Rossoneri Are on Their Way to Another Scudetto

AC Milan have regained the top spot in the Serie A table with a 2-0 win over Calgiari Tuesday, and the Rossoneri will not allow any other team to keep them from winning a second straight Scudetto.

Milan have too much attacking talent to be kept off the score sheet each match, and with the possibility of them getting troubled Manchester City forward Carlos Tevez in the January transfer window, they could run away with from the pack in Serie A.

With Alexandre Pato, Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimovich leading the Milan attack, there are so many concerns for opposing defenders to worry about. Each of these forwards has pace and can finish with deadly accuracy in the box.

This forward trio is a major reason why Milan have scored an astounding 35 goals in the league this season, eight more than Juventus who rank second with 27 goals.

Milan's defense has also been quite good this season. Thiago Silva is one of the best center backs in the world, and the club was right to keep him at all costs despite interest from Real Madrid. The Brazilian has great pace and is a very strong defender.

He has helped Milan allow just 16 goals this season, sixth best in the league.

Not only does Milan have talent on defense, they have depth as well. You have to be able to select different defensive combinations when injuries take their toll throughout the season.

Serie is a tough league, and you need players who can step up and defend when injuries inevitably cause problems.

There is no excuse for Milan to not win another Serie A title, especially when normal title contenders Inter and Roma are having poor seasons. Napoli is also making a prolonged Champions League run, which will wear them down a bit. 

Last season, Milan won the Scudetto but failed to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League when they lost to Premier League club Tottenham in the round of 16.

With a better squad and one full of confidence at the moment, Milan have a great chance to bring their Serie A success into the Champions League and defeat Arsenal in the knockout stage in February.
