NFL Picks Week 16: 3 Bold Predictions for the Week Ahead
Week 15 in the NFL probably couldn't have been more wild and definitely made some extremely bold predictions come true.
I, for one, thought Drew Brees could throw for 400 yards with four touchdown passes against the Vikings.
What did he do?
Not much.
He just accumulated 412 yards through the air with five passing scores.
Unreal.
Here's to hoping Week 16 can be just as insane.
My bold predictions for the holiday weekend...
The Chiefs Will Blow out the Raiders
1 of 3Sure, I'll hop on the Chiefs' undefeated season-ending bandwagon.
Why not.
They certainly looked like the team destined for the playoffs on Sunday against the Packers, and Tamba Hali wreaked havoc all afternoon.
What was Todd Haley thinking not starting Kyle Orton from the moment he was signed?
Ridiculously bad coaching decision there, huh?
The Raiders are one of the toughest teams to figure out and after a stretch in which they looked to be primed for the postseason, Carson Palmer and the defense dramatically regressed and have seemed completely out of sorts for a few weeks now.
Playing inside the energized Arrowhead Stadium against your most bitter rival is definitely not the ideal place to end a losing streak.
Orton and KC win big, 31-14
Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs Will Combine for More Than 120 Yards Rushing
2 of 3The Giants still have the 32nd-ranked running game in football, averaging a shade above 86 yards rushing per game, but Ahmad Bradshaw is back.
He carried the ball 10 times for 58 yards with a touchdown last week, and he's the jolt this run offense desperately needs.
Remember when Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs were one of the most feared duos in the NFL?
They won't return to that level against the Jets, but Tom Coughlin will establish the run against the Jets in his critical New Jersey Bowl to allow Eli Manning to work the play-action pass later in the game.
After a few punishing runs by Jacobs, Bradshaw will provide the speed and shiftiness to throw off the Jets' defenders.
We love talking about the Giants' explosiveness through the air, but don't be surprised if their run game is the key in this Big Apple showdown.
Drew Brees and Matt Ryan Will Combine for 800 Yards Passing on MNF
3 of 3Bold predictions with Drew Brees are always a blast.
There' no telling what this quarterbacking mastermind can do.
Both clubs are incredibly energized when playing indoors, and we all know the ridiculous tear Brees is on over the last five games?
Oh, you don't know?
He's thrown for at least 322 yards in each contest and has 16 touchdowns and no interceptions over that span.
Insanity.
Matt Ryan hasn't been bad, either.
He's got 12 touchdowns to only two interceptions in his last five.
I call for shootouts quite a bit, but this is a game that could most definitely excite the offensive lover in all of us.
