Ohio State Football Recruiting: 5-Star Noah Spence Latest to Join Urban Meyer

Randy ChambersDec 19, 2011

Urban Meyer strikes again.

We knew the new Buckeyes head coach was fantastic at what he does and has always been able to put together some of the top recruiting classes in the country. What he's doing right now for Ohio State is nothing short of remarkable.

Just last week, Meyer was able to convince both defensive tackle Tommy Schutt and running back Brionte Dunn to commit to Ohio State. Both were highly considering joining other schools.

Now, the most recent signing comes from another 5-star recruit in defensive end Noah Spence. He had offers from nearly every top school in the country, including Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, USC and Penn State, among others.

Many believed the Nittany Lions were the favorite, but with the sex scandal hanging over the university, he had second thoughts.

"

"I am committed to Ohio State and I just decided to do it before the Under Armour game," Noah Spence stated. "We went into Urban Meyer's office and I said 'Coach I am done and I want to be a part of the Buckeye Nation. I'd still like to announce on TV where I am going, but I didn't want to wait anymore.'"

"

At 6'3'', 240 pounds, Spence is an athlete at the defensive end position and is always making the plays in the backfield. Whether he's sacking the quarterback or tackling the running back for a loss, he is sure to instantly make this Buckeyes defensive line even better.

This commitment also makes the Buckeyes' overall recruiting class even better. It's brought Ohio State to No.6 on Rivals.com and No.5 on Scout.com.

Now, the question is, what will Urban Meyer do next?

With a ton of top recruits left on the board considering Ohio State as well, it makes you believe that he is far from done.
