WWE TLC 2011: CM Punk Must Fight Zack Ryder After Another Huge Win at TLC

Eric BallDec 19, 2011

The two biggest stories at the WWE TLC on Sunday night were CM Punk and Zack Ryder.

Both wrestlers looked ferocious and close to unstoppable. The way Punk demolished The Miz and Alberto Del Rio was one for the ages. Punk is on a whole different level right now.

He is crushing the competition and needs a title bout against somebody that can actually put up a good fight.

Enter Ryder, who was equally impressive in his win over Dolph Ziggler.

Ryder toyed with an overconfident Ziggler before unleashing two of the nastiest knee blows I've ever seen. He landed them right to Ziggler's chin and the match was all but over. Ryder collects the three count and is now the new United States champion.

The two wrestlers are on top of their games and I think at this moment these are the two best wrestlers in the sport.

Combining Punk's brutal fighting style and his 6'2'', 220-pound frame against another wrestler with the exact same frame, who knows what the outcome will be?

I think the "Long Island Iced-Z" has more than a punchers chance as long as he can keep pinning Punk. He doesn't need to fall into the trap of allowing Punk to fight him, he needs to wear him down and eventually keep him down.

At this point in Punk's career he has done it all, and a fight against Ziggler would certainly be another big check mark to put on his resume. Then again, I think Punk would have his hands full against this rising star in Ryder.

With two incredibly huge fanbases cheering on...this would be an epic match.

Hopefully Vince McMahon is listening.
