Mike Milbury Denies Allegations of Child Assault and Battery
NBC's NHL analyst Mike Milbury is denying charges that he assaulted and battered a child. The charges stem from an alleged incident with a 12-year-old youth hockey player at a rink in Brookline, Massachusetts.
Milbury is a coach for a pee-wee team in Brookline, and the child in question was an opponent.
According to Laurel J. Sweet of the Boston Herald, "Police today said they have charged Milbury with assault and battery on a child, threats to commit a crime and disorderly conduct in connection with his alleged verbal and physical attack on a 12-year-old boy during a pee-wee exhibition hockey game last Friday night at the town-owned Larz Andersen Rink in Brookline."

Sweet added details of the allegations:
"It is alleged that after Milbury’s son and a player for the Black Hawks got into a scrape on the ice, Milbury charged out onto the rink and verbally berated and grabbed and shook the 12-year-old opposing player.
"
Milbury’s lawyer Daniel Rabinovitz released this statement for his client and is quoted by Jason Brough of Pro Hockey Talk :
"Mike Milbury denies any allegations that there was an assault of any kind. He simply intervened in an altercation between his son and an opposing player. No one was struck, no one was injured and no one was threatened.
"
Brough went onto report that Milbury will be taking a break from his on-air duties for NBC. Here is a statement from an NBC Sports Group spokesperson, as reported by Brough:
"In our discussions with Mike, we both came to the conclusion that he should remain off the air while focusing on his affairs.
"
Milbury will be summons to a Brookline court to answer the charges.
