I'm Just Saying: With Joe Burgett

Joe Burgett Dec 30, 2008

Does anyone here know the rules of a battle royal? Well, there are two versions of the the battle royal. The over-the-top version and the elimination version. We saw the over-the-top rope version this past week on RAW.

Now just to throw this in, RAW's ratings went way up this week. It is the highest it has been in sometime. But back to the battle royal we saw.

It was with the WWE Divas, and the winner would get a shot at Beth Phoenix's Women's Championship. Well, I was watching the live RAW and I saw Candice Michelle go out first.

I thought it was kind of weird she went out, but oh well. Then I saw fan favorite Kelly Kelly supposedly eliminated. She never was. She went through the middle rope and Michael Cole did the right thing on commentary—he didn't say a word.

She actually was not eliminated because she never went over the top rope. The Rules clearly state you have to go over the top. So I guess we now are going to change the rules of the Royal Rumble, too?

I'm just saying since the mistake was so obvious, can't you put Kelly in the ring and eliminate her the right way? She went in the back and never came out again. I figured she was playing possum and going to come back in and win.

But she didn't, and that really was terrible by the WWE. Melina ended up winning it, but I still hate the fact that the WWE mistake was not corrected.

And onto Kelly again. Why, oh why, was she with Randy Orton? Kind of weird. I like the fact that they picked Orton for the guy, though.

He is the only guy who can honestly say he may have been with someone hotter than Kelly Kelly. I'm just saying if Kane was supposed to be Kelly's stalker, then why did he not get involved in the World title match?

He could have cost Orton a chance to win the World Title in the stupid version of the fatal four way. He was not supposed to win, anyway.

And speaking of the fatal four way, why was it done in such incredibly stupid fashion? I mean, the rules of the Triple Threat and Fatal Four Way are that all men are in the ring at the same time.

The WWE made it to where you had to tag in. I'm just saying, WWE, how could you change the rules of one of the oldest and easiest to follow matches in wrestling history?

You had a triple threat not too long ago at Wrestlemania. All men were in the ring then. What's next—we are going to have to do over-the-top rope matches as tag matches?

WWE, are you serious? Do you think we are not going to tell? Especially someone like me, who has watched wrestling for 19 years now.

I'm just saying, WWE, work on your stupidity.
