WWE TLC 2011 Video: Watch Zack Ryder and Dolph Ziggler Hype Match on YouTube

Mike ChiariDec 16, 2011

On Sunday at WWE's TLC pay-per-view, Zack Ryder will challenge Dolph Ziggler for the United States championship. It is one of the most anticipated matches on the card and much of that has to do with the build up from Ryder and Ziggler themselves.

While the two have been involved in a feud over the past couple of months, it has been furthered on Ryder's YouTube show Z! True Long Island Story. Ryder has continually made threats toward Ziggler and his title, while Ziggler had a segment of his own in which he pumps himself up and puts down Ryder.

On the latest episode of the show, which is the last one prior to TLC, Ryder put together a really good video package chronicling the feud between the two superstars both on WWE programming and on Z! True Long Island Story.

Ziggler had continually got the better of Ryder on the show by stealing his HDMI cable and his ex-girlfriend, as well as orchestrating an attack on his best friend Chiapetta. Ryder got the last laugh in episode No. 44, however, as he struck Ziggler with his Internet championship.

The way Ryder has continued to build the feud outside of WWE programming is a true testament to the way he is willing to go the extra mile. Had Ryder never created the show in the first place, there is a good chance that he would find himself unemployed or—even worse—in TNA. Ryder developed his own character and increased his exposure in spite of the fact that the creative team really had nothing for him.

As a result, Ryder deserves everything he has been getting over the past several months. The fact of the matter is that Ryder is one of the most over superstars in the company right now and may only be rivaled by CM Punk. That is why Ryder is featured so prominently on Raw, it's why he suddenly has so much merchandise available and it's why he will win the United States championship on Sunday.

What shouldn't be lost in all of this is that Ziggler's involvement in the feud has been just as important as Ryder's. Ziggler has really begun to come into his own as a cocky heel and it has become very evident on Ryder's show that his promo work has grown by leaps and bounds.

Ziggler has got so good as an overall superstar that he doesn't need the United States championship anymore. Ziggler is ready for a main-event push and dropping the belt to Ryder is the only way for that to happen.

Ryder deserves his moment in the sun at TLC and I believe he is going to get it. Ryder has earned his chance to be a champion and Ziggler has earned his chance to compete against the best. Provided Ryder wins on Sunday, it will truly be a win-win situation for two fantastic wrestlers and personalities.
