Chris Paul to LA Clippers Sets off Firestorm of Twitter Reaction

Chris Paul who was bound and gagged by David Stern for days is finally leaving New Orleans for Los Angeles. The fact that the team he will lead is the Clippers and not the Lakers has set the Twitter world ablaze. 

While we knew that Chris Paul had to be traded, we didn't think it would ever happen. The NBA has balked at one too many offers sending Paul off the Hornets. 

Yet, that is what is reporting to have happened and this is what the Twitter world thinks about it. 

Marc Stein of ESPN first tweeted the trade and this is what it looked like. 

Arash Markazi of ESPN Los Angeles tweets a post that should anger some Lakers fans, but there is nothing they can do to deny it. 

The aftermath? Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated tweeted that it will be nothing short of a melee.

And there you have it. The fans that have been waiting for weeks to see Chris Paul leave to teams like the Knicks or the Lakers have finally seen him dealt. Only, it's to the Clippers. 

In an even stranger turn, the deal makes the Clippers a tad better than the Lakers going into the season. Chris Paul brings star power and leadership to the Clip Show, and it will make a huge difference in the end. 

Twitter has sounded off, and the bulk of fans are just happy this ordeal is over.
