Kane: 10 Superstars We'd Love to See the Big Red Monster Feud With
Allow me to steal one of the The Rock's catchphrases for a moment: Finally...masked Kane has come back to the WWE.
Since he removed his mask in 2003, fans of The Big Red Monster have been pining for him to put the mask back on and return to the character that originally made him so popular.
And on last night's episode of Monday Night Raw, he did.
Kane returned and laid out John Cena with a chokeslam during the main event, and it looks like he'll be working as one of the top heels in the WWE going forward.
That leaves a number of options for Kane to feud with going forward, but let's take a look at my top 10.
10. The Big Show
1 of 10I usually am not a fan of feuds between two big men because, as evidenced by the ongoing one between Mark Henry and The Big Show, they're usually not too good wrestling-wise.
That being said, the Henry/Show feud has given us a few memorable moments (such as Show's elbow drop or Henry's superplex at Vengeance) and it's at least been somewhat entertaining to me.
I thought for sure that this feud would climax with Kane returning and laying out Henry after he had a match with Big Show, but that obviously didn't happen.
Instead, Kane has returned as a masked heel, and given all the history between he and Show, a feud between the two makes sense.
It's no secret that the WWE loves these giant vs. giant feuds, and though we've seen Kane/Show numerous times before, I wouldn't mind seeing it again now that Kane has his mask back on.
9. Zack Ryder
2 of 10Zack Ryder is quickly rising up the ranks on Monday Night Raw, and in the near future, I expect him to move on from his feud with Dolph Ziggler.
Once that feud is over, Ryder will be looking to start a new rivalry with one of Raw's upper mid-card or borderline main event workers.
Given that The Miz is likely headed for a WWE Championship feud (a singles one, that is) with CM Punk soon and the fact that Ryder's already feuded with Ziggler, the best options for Ryder's next rivalry are Kane and Alberto Del Rio.
If it isn't Del Rio, then it could very well be Kane.
After all, Kane did just attack Ryder's best buddy when he returned on last night's Raw.
8. R-Truth
3 of 10R-Truth will likely return from his 30-day suspension within the next couple of weeks, and given the way he was unceremoniously written off TV by The Miz, it's likely that he'll return as a babyface.
In that case, Truth could certainly be headed for a feud with The Miz. But I wouldn't mind seeing him start a rivalry with Kane.
Truth was absolutely hilarious throughout 2011, especially when it came to his fear of both spiders and ladders.
Now, if Truth is that afraid of small arachnids and heights, then how do you think he would react when he comes face to face with a masked Kane?
The potential comedy in a feud with Kane could be great, and it would prevent Truth from getting lost in the shuffle whenever he does eventually return.
7. Triple H
4 of 10There is a long, long history between Triple H and Kane, the lowlight of which was the Katie Vick storyline.
But the two future WWE Hall of Famers haven't had a legitimate feud since 2004, and they really haven't crossed paths much since then, either.
I could see that changing in the near future, though.
With Triple H likely moving on with his feud from Kevin Nash shortly and Kane seemingly getting a renewed push as a monster heel on Raw, the ingredients definitely appear to be there for a feud between two of the bigger stars of the Attitude Era.
I would definitely approve of this, because although it clearly won't be as good as Undertaker vs. Triple H, it'll still be fun to see two guys I grew up watching actually feud with each other in 2011.
6. The Undertaker
5 of 10Is The Undertaker the man behind the series of cryptic videos that have been airing lately? Who knows?
I, for one, am leaning toward them being meant for another returning star, but that doesn't mean I don't think Taker could be coming back soon.
In fact, I think he will be returning within the next couple of months to start the build toward him defending the streak and trying to go 20-0 at Wrestlemania.
Considering that Taker has taken on established veterans at the last three Wrestlemanias and that Kane just put the mask back on, I think there's a very good chance we could see these two have yet another rivalry which culminates at Wrestlemania.
In many ways, I'd probably be pretty surprised if that didn't happen.
5. Daniel Bryan
6 of 10Why not?
I know that Daniel Bryan keeps getting involved with Mark Henry and the World Heavyweight Championship, but he still doesn't have a real feud at the moment.
That needs to change so the company can build Bryan up as we get closer to him cashing in at Wrestlemania 28.
If the plan is to have Bryan vs. Henry at the granddaddy of them all, I'd personally love to see Bryan feud with the company's biggest stars (literally) such as Kane and Brodus Clay in order to prove that he can hang with the WWE's behemoths in the ring.
That way, it will be more believable if/when he does beat Henry.
To start off that storyline, though, I'd throw Bryan in a feud with Kane and see if he can stop the newly resurrected Big Red Monster.
4. Randy Orton
7 of 10Randy Orton has had a phenomenal year in terms of consistently putting on great matches, and a couple of his most entertaining TV bouts came against Kane.
The Viper and The Big Red Monster had a mini-feud of sorts on Smackdown earlier this year and faced each other in two great matches, including this Street Fight.
I was very impressed with both of these guys here, and they seemed to have some awesome chemistry. So, why not let them have a full-fledged feud this time around?
After all, Orton has been helping other wrestlers step up their game all year long, and he could do that again with Kane in 2012.
Since Kane is technically a Smackdown superstar, there's really no need to explain this either. Just have Kane attack Orton, and then let the fun begin.
3. CM Punk
8 of 10I really have no idea what will happen with Kane.
He could be in the main event for a long time, he could be there briefly, he could turn baby face soon or he could become a Smackdown star, all without any real explanation.
The WWE has a long history of just thrusting Kane into whatever role they need him in, so there may be only a slim chance of his push lasting longer than a few months.
No matter what the case is, however, a WWE Championship feud with CM Punk has to be a possibility at the moment.
Punk could very well be looking for two new challengers once TLC is over, and given the way he just ran through John Cena on yesterday's Raw, Kane might be next in line.
2. Sheamus
9 of 10The Celtic Warrior vs. The Big Red Monster? Count me in.
Despite being pushed as one of the WWE's top workers, Sheamus is basically stuck in No Man's Land at the moment, without any feud or any real direction.
But that's where Kane comes in.
Sheamus is as over as just about any baby face right now, so the fans would certainly love to see him take out one of the WWE's top heels, the newly masked Kane.
This would be another behemoth vs. behemoth that the creative team loves, but one that I think could actually be pretty solid wrestling-wise.
1. John Cena
10 of 10What? Were you really expecting someone else here?
After the way The Big Red Monster returned on last night's Raw, Kane vs. John Cena is the feud that makes the most sense at the time being.
Cena actually isn't involved in the WWE Championship picture for once, and he's not feuding with anyone. Therefore, a feud with Kane is a good way to both put Cena in a main event angle and keep him away from the WWE title for a while.
The only reason I might question this feud is that the WWE appears to be pushing Kane as a heel, but a good portion of the fans seemed to be cheering him when he chokeslammed Cena last night.
Is this an interesting twist to Cena's "The boos are getting to me" storyline? Or is it something else entirely?
I have no idea. But if the WWE is trying to push Kane as a full-blown heel and Cena as a full-fledged face, this might not work.
